• After August 31, 2009, no future courses will be loaded into Blackboard 6 as OIT initiates the retirement of Blackboard 6. Until December 31, 2009, you will be able to get into Blackboard 6 to export your course content out of Blackboard 6 and import it into Blackboard 7, but all course shells will be loaded into Blackboard 7 after August 31st.

Before the quarter [download instructions]

• Check that your computer meets Blackboard's system requirements
• Create your Blackboard course shell
• Add staff (e.g. teaching assistants) to your course (optional)
• Log into Blackboard
• Add content to your course

At the beginning of the quarter

• Help students access your course
• Help students use Blackboard

During the quarter

• Backup your gradebook
• Archive your course (optional)

At the end of the quarter

• Export the gradebook
• Export your course
• Archive your course
